Root is a board game made by Leder Games that my roommates and I quickly fell in love with after first playing in early 2021. To celebrate the launch of their newest expansion for the game, they hosted a community fan-art event where they encouraged fans to submit any form of art they wanted to make to celebrate all things Root! I decided I wanted to join in the fun and made this animated short! It ended up winning the second place prize in the video competition.
I created the concept and animation.
Leder Games provided a collection of art assets to use for the contest, so I ended up manipulating many of those files designed by Kyle Ferrin for this video.
Ben Drain created the sound design.
