Voice is an animation I made based around two illustrations by the amazing artist Helvetica Blanc. Their art style and the world they've created around each piece has always been enthralling to me, so for this project I set out to explore a possible interpretation of two separate artworks, 'Voice' and 'Sentinel'.
'Voice' depicts three characters who have passed a threshold into a potentially unknown space, seemingly searching for an object, a person, a place. Above them an entity speaks. This entity appears in 'Sentinel' as a four-winged being holding a scepter, standing guard.
At least this is how I interpreted these two pieces by Helvetica. I wanted to explore the potential connection that these two pieces had, while respecting and adhering to the world and atmosphere that Helvetica created with all of their artworks.
I had such a fun time working on this project and I have such high respect for Helvetica Blanc as an artist!
